LPP CNC Turning Machine

ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING

One of LPP’s new focuses is additive manufacturing, more specifically, 3D printing. 3D printing is a process best used for small-scale part manufacturing due to its relatively low costs, speed, and incredible versatility with numerous materials for 3D printing available. We serve virtually every industry from medical to automotive, so do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or unique inquiries.

MATERIALS

We use many materials for additive manufacturing. Some of the plastics we commonly use as parts and models for 3D printing include:

  • PLA- Cost-efficient thermoplastic with biodegradable traits and good strength ability
  • PETG- Thermoplastic with high physical strength properties and great resistance to outdoor weathering
  • NylonX- Thermoplastic that is chemical and oil resistant
  • Carbon fiber reinforced PLA and Nylon- Material for 3D printing known for its stiffness and wear resistance

INDUSTRIES

additive manufacturing

As additive manufacturing can create countless types of parts, we can provide solutions for those in an extensive list of industries. We often use additive manufacturing for aerospace, but we also support numerous other industries, including:

  • Automotive
  • Industrial
  • Electronics
  • Manufacturing
  • Medical

BENEFITS

Alongside cutting costs, 3D printing is a great additive manufacturing method because of its speed and efficiency. Our printing services can quickly print custom parts, meaning the downtime and lead time you typically experience waiting for custom parts is significantly reduced. The production speed of this manufacturing for aerospace is particularly helpful to resuming operation, as extended downtime in the field creates significant delay. The 3D printing method is also considered environmentally friendly as many of the plastic materials used are biodegradable, making them a good choice for components entering sensitive conditions or environments. As an added benefits, this method does not create excess waste as it is an additive process as opposed to a subtractive form of manufacturing.

CAPABILITIES

The additive manufacturing process of 3D printing is primarily used for printing plastic materials, as opposed to our CNC machining that mainly provides metal part solutions. Additive manufacturing for aerospace, industrial, and manufacturing sectors is very popular, which is why we have recently invested in new 3D printing technology. We can use numerous materials for 3D printing, including multiple thermoplastics that are oil and chemical resistant, providing a suitable replacement for a wide array of metal parts. We can print parts under 12″ X 12″ X 12″ in size, with smaller parts taking approximately an hour to complete while larger parts take 24 hours or more.

We can make models for 3D printing and parts, including machine parts that can no longer be purchased or are very rare to find, loop fixtures for assembly efficiency, center wire guides, threaded parts, hinges, and many more. Alongside our wide range of part capabilities, we can print parts in numerous colors to fit your required needs.
